Mission:
The Center was created in 1982 with two goals: providing rigorous clinical training to its interns, and providing excellent short and long term out-patient psychotherapy at modest fees.

Orientation:
Psychodynamic. The Center emphasizes long term, insight oriented therapy. We also provide crisis intervention and counseling for persons with specific problems amenable to short-term problem solving.

Fees:
SLIDING SCALE BASED ON INCOME. The Center accepts Fee for Service Insurance and MediCare. We are not able to accept MediCal.

Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
New clients are seen by appointment within one week

Population:
The Center serves a general outpatient population.

Ages Served:
Adults and adolescents (from about 13 or 14 years).

Languages:
Varies. Currently English, Hebrew, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Modalities:
Individuals, couples, and families. Groups are formed from time to time.

Medications:
Medication referrals are made to UCLA, other hospitals, and to psychiatrists in private practice.

Staff:
The principle training staff consists of two Psychologists and one Doctor of Social Work. Supplemental supervision is provided by licensed clinicians from a number of professional disciplines, all of whom have extensive psychodynamic experience.

Therapists:
Six to eight Psychology interns, Psychological Assistants, and Marriage Family Therapist interns. Therapists are at the Center for two years, and are encouraged to continue seeing their clients after completing the training program.
